Right-Loop™

Right-Loop™

Geothermal Design Worksheets for Accurate Calculations

Overview.

Right-Loop™ provides quick, easy and accurate geothermal loop designs that comply with all industry standards. It is based on methods developed by the OSU Design Manual for the general method, ASHRAE Design Manual for fundamental calculations, Cavanaugh/Alabama for lake/pond calculations, and NRECA/OSU/EPRI for Slinky calculations. This module should only be applied in residential situations to ensure accurate sizing and calculations.
Right-Loop requires at least one load calculation module in order to operate (Right-J®, or Right-F280™.)

Bottom Line.

Right-Loop is the easiest way to quickly design your geothermal system. Set your bin data and earth temperature cities, select your ground-source heat pump equipment and circulating pump, and set your equipment configuration and loop characteristics–and you're done.

More Right-Loop Information

  • Load calculations from Right-J® and Right-Draw® are read into Right-Loop automatically.
  • Select equipment from your own custom library, then pick the loop type and configuration.
  • Extensive built-in library of tabular data, such as bin weather, earth temperature, and soil types.  With those selected, Right-Loop calculates the remaining factors instantly.
  • Everything you need is built-in with Right-Loop.
  • Full multi-zone capability allows one loop per zone or combined equipment on loops.
  • Handles parallel series, horizontal and vertical loops, slinky and pond configurations.
  • Computes water and anti-freeze volumes for easy mixing for Propylene Glycol, Methanol, Potassium Acetate (GS4 or equivalent), water, and more.
  • Calculates the pump head and freezing temperatures for variable antifreeze percentages.
  • Extensive picture library of loop configurations.
  • Graphic display of loop length vs. EWT.
